Mahboba's Promise

Mahboba’s Promise is an Australian non-profit voluntary organisation dedicated to the women and children of Afghanistan.  Mahboba's Promise was founded by Mahboba Rawi, herself a refugee from Afghanistan, now an Australian citizen. When the Russians invaded Afghanistan, Mahboba, only a school girl at the time, lead a student demonstration. Forced to flee Kabul, she walked for ten days over the Kyber Pass to escape the threat of imprisonment. After spending two years in a Pakistan refugee camp, she married and moved to Australia and settled to the Australian way of life. Further tragedy touched her life in 1992 when she lost her son in a drowning accident at Kiama's blowhole on the NSW coast.

Amongst all of these personal challenges and tragedies, Mahboba has successfully raised money, awareness and impacted the lives of women and children immeasurably. Learn more about Mahboba click here.

Bali Kids

Established in 2005, Bali Kids is dedicated to providing care to orphans in Bali, an island with a population of 40,000 orphans. With many of these orphans living without adequate health care, emotional nourishment or education, they would be fated to struggle on their own. Bali Kids gives care to orphans, with no discrimination against their religious background or health complaints. As a result, Bali Kids often helps HIV-positive and AIDS children who would be without health care. They also provide care to disadvantaged children in local villages, too poor to afford it on their own. The centre is open to all orphans registered in Bali’s orphanages who need medical attention.
